Mosaic provides a life of possibilities for people with intellectual disabilities. We help people define their own happiness. We support them and empower the pursuit of their goals. We celebrate their successes, even if that success is as simple as the pursuit itself.

The Pontiac Agency was created in 1982 as part of Martin Luther Homes (a legacy organization of Mosaic). A county wide task force had determined that there was a need for community-based residential services in Livingston County in central Illinois. At about the same time, the parents of a person residing at the Martin Luther Homes campus in Beatrice, Neb., were trying to convince the Martin Luther Homes Board of Directors that it was time to expand services beyond the state of Nebraska. When the parents and the Livingston County Task force joined forces, history was made.

Since the beginning of providing services in the Livingston County area, Mosaic has had close relationships with many Lutheran churches in the Pontiac and Dwight area. Members of these congregations volunteered many hours and assisted with the building of the agency's first Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA) home in Pontiac.

Since that time, the agency has constructed an additional four CILA homes in Pontiac and two CILA homes in Dwight, about 20 miles north of Pontiac.
