How did you come to work with Mosaic?
I first applied as the Business Manager because I needed a change in work environment. Recently I was promoted to Executive Director. I’ve been here 15 years and it still is the best job I’ve  ever had!

What is your favorite part about your job?
Working with our people in service, of course. Where else can you receive hugs, authentic smiles and feel sincere love on a daily basis?

What comes to mind when you think of a cheerleader? Usually a young, energetic high school or college student experienced in dance and gymnastics. Those qualities do not describe Sue Buchanan, however, yet she is the loudest, most enthusiastic cheerleader on the team.

Sue’s dream of cheerleading became a reality when Mosaic employees noticed Sue cheering her peers on at Special Olympics events. It was evident that Sue’s positive, energetic and enthusiastic nature would make her a great cheerleader.

Mosaic is fortunate to have great support from the Ellsworth community and surrounding areas. Support from our donors has helped pay for meaningful events and activities such as a Thanksgiving meal for the people we support and their loved ones. Contributions have also gone toward Christmas gifts for people in service who were not able to go home and see family members for the holiday.

Jan Bontrager is known to the community as the Executive Director for the Ellsworth Housing Authority. What people may not know is that she is also a volunteer, advocate and friend of Mosaic. Six years ago, Jan and Theresa Forshee (former pastor of United Methodist Church), were brainstorming ideas on how to partner with Mosaic. They came up with the idea of doing a weekly “Praise and Worship” session on Wednesday mornings using Vacation Bible School music.
