Mosaic in Ellsworth

How did you come to work with Mosaic?
I first applied as the Business Manager because I needed a change in work environment. Recently I was promoted to Executive Director. I’ve been here 15 years and it still is the best job I’ve  ever had!

What is your favorite part about your job?
Working with our people in service, of course. Where else can you receive hugs, authentic smiles and feel sincere love on a daily basis?

Interesting fact about yourself?
I’ve been known to ride motorcycles, seriously.

Do you have any secret talents?
I can whistle really loud, I mean REALLY loud.

Do you have any special memories of working at Mosaic?
There are so many, but one I think about every so often.

I was working in my office and a person in service (who is no longer with us) came down the hallway, walked into my office and took a seat. He began to tell me a big old story about something that happened at our Day Service program. His story got even more exaggerated.

I continued to listen and when he was done I asked him, ‘What would you like me to do about it?’ He sat there and just looked at me, frowned and said, ‘Oh, nothing.’ He stood up, told me I was fired and to go home, and off he went, I hollered at him, ‘I love you.’ He stopped, looked at me with the biggest smile, and said, ‘I know,’ and walked through the back door of the day program.

Sometimes I look out of my office at the door leading to the day site and I can feel his presence still with us.

Thank you Bonnie for all you do for the people we support and for your dedication to Mosaic in Ellsworth.
