Since moving to a Mosaic at Home provider, they have experienced many new things in the last year and added a new vacation to that list. National Volunteer Appreciation week was April 23–29. It is an opportunity to shine a light on the people and causes that inspire us to serve. Volunteerism empowers individuals to find their purpose, to take their passion and turn it into meaningful change.

Mosaic in Rockford

As Mosaic approached our two-year anniversary in our office building, we decided to celebrate and also invite all of our building tenants to attend. We did a small open house with the theme of the Cinco de Mayo holiday. At our open house we catered in Mexican cuisine, had glass-bottle sodas (with real cane sugar) and passed out baby sombreros. We were able to connect with about 20-25 people who did not know Mosaic or what we do.

At-risk children who participate in the Remedies Renewing Lives shelter and Rock House Kids received a bag of full goodies this past Easter, thanks to Mosaic and the Alpine Kiwanis group.

The week before Easter, we gathered some people we serve to volunteer and collected donations and supplies to fill Easter bags for two local charities. Alpine Kiwanis came to our office and we made an Easter basket assembly line and filled almost 150 Easter bags. People were excited about the volunteer project because it gave them a chance to give back to the community.
