Mosaic in Southeast Texas

In the past couple days, Southeast Texas has experienced nothing less than natural disaster with unprecedented winds, rains, flooding, and tornadoes from Hurricane Harvey.  We are so fortunate and lucky for all employees and people-in-service at Mosaic along with their families and care providers to have escaped the storm relatively unscathed.  Staff has shown amazing effort and care to ensure the safety of everyone.

When Jeffery moved back to his small hometown in Texas, he was without transportation services. It’s hard to complete even small tasks like buying basic necessities and paying bills when you don’t have a ride! Jeffery’s case manager, Tammika, worked for many months to help Jeffery find the right person to provide services for him. That’s something Jeffery says he likes about Mosaic.

“Everyone really listens and spends time to understand the situation,” he said. “They don’t just try to push something on you.”

Carolyn and Albert are a couple served by Mosaic in Southeast Texas and have been married for 23 years. They enjoy living in a home they call their own. It took a long time for them to be able to own a home after renting for many years. It was a proud moment when they finally saved up enough and got the mortgage approved to get their own place 10 years ago. They enjoy having plenty of room in their house, storage space, being able to have and care for their three dogs, and having a yard where they can grow vegetables and flowers.

My name is Jenniffer LeDoux, and I am delighted to serve as the Executive Director for Mosaic in Southeast Texas, a role I assumed in January 2017. I came to Mosaic with more than 20 years of experience working with babies, children, youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Mosaic’s faith heritage, mission, vision and core values were all key factors in my decision to join this team. I am grateful for the employees I work alongside in support of the individuals we serve.

When it works out, life is best when we can both give and receive.

Folks who attend the Mosaic in Southeast Texas, Bryan Day Program took a special trip to the visit the College Station Fire Department a couple weeks ago.  The group got a great tour and explanation of how the fire department operates.  They even got to see some things behind the scenes! They were thankful to the fire fighters and for taking the time to show them around.

John, a person served by Mosaic in Southeast Texas, Spring location, loves music! John was heavily influenced by his dad, Jim, a lifelong musician. Growing up, he listened to his dad practice on his own and with his band along with moving about to see him play at gigs and on the road. It is no surprise that John has a great ear for music and a wonderful singing voice.
